‘Fountains Ways – Ancient Paths for Modern Pilgrims’
Saturday 21st March 2026, St Andrew’s Church, Kirkby Malzeard, HG4 3RT
‘Fountains Ways – Ancient Paths for Modern Pilgrims’ is a series of pilgrimage walks, largely following established footpaths
and linking welcoming historic churches across the Fountains Benefice, which offer fresh opportunities to explore faith, to
enjoy walking with friends and to appreciate the variety of glorious countryside around us.
Two walks, both of around 7 miles in length, will be offered on the day, both commencing and finishing at St Andrew’s Church, Kirkby Malzeard:
‘Curlew Way’ including St Cuthbert & St Oswald’s, Winksley
‘Fishers’ Way’ including St James’ & the Methodist, Grewelthorpe, and St John’s, Mickley
10.00 am - For those wishing to take part in the walks there will be a gathering, prayer and briefing.
3.30 pm - A short act of Thanksgiving + Reception, with refreshments, traybakes and celebratory cake.
